DOH – Developmental Disability Division
Hawaii Behavioral Health (HBH) is known for its collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH) and its strong commitment to assist and support the DOH in providing services.
Personal Assistance Habiliation (PAB)
PAB Workers work directly with clients to address their individual goals using evidence based practices and person centered programming. Our team is highly trained in providing the best quality of service and implementing programs to teach new skills and collect data to measure the effectiveness of treatment.
Should clients qualify for respite services, our PAB Workers are able to assist our existing PAB clients. Respite services are provided on a short term basis for clients living in family homes to relieve the person normally providing the care.
Training and Consultation
Training and Consultation services may be provided to clients with high levels of challenging or maladaptive behaviors. Our clinical consultants provide strategies to replace challenging behaviors with alternative, socially acceptable ways to meet client’s wants and needs. Consultants provide instruction to PAB Workers to teach client’s new skills. Consultants also provides assessment, data collection, behavior support plan development, and team training.
Each client is provided with a Service Supervisor to ensure that:
- Participants are making progress on his/her goals
- The team is well trained
- Everyone is working collaboratively towards success
- PAB performance is monitored and progress is reported in a timely manner
- Provides monthly supervision with clients and their team
